FAQ

Does the editor cost anything?

The download is free, and without a license you can look at everything (view mode). Editing needs a license – during the beta there are free beta accesses.

Is it dangerous for my save?

The editor only changes values FM already has in memory and never calls game functions. Still: save first and try new things on a test save. Features marked “(experimental)” are especially new.

What happens after an FM update?

The editor knows the FM versions it was tested with. On a new version it warns and recommends view mode until a matching editor update is out – the editor tells you itself.

Do I need the internet all the time?

No. Once to activate; after that the editor renews the activation in the background whenever you are online anyway (at least every 30 days).

On how many PCs can I use it?

On up to 2 PCs. You free a PC in the editor (“Remove license”) or under “My account”.

Windows says “Windows protected your PC”.

The program is not digitally signed (yet). Click “More info” → “Run anyway”.

  • Your own manager: an editor page of its own for your manager.
  • Staff: edit nation knowledge and add countries, happiness next to the attributes, contract clauses; contracts without the player-only fields.
